EMI full-time teacher selection announcement

  1. Teacher recruitment: one full-time EMI (English as a medium of instruction) assistant professor or above.
  2. Expertise or skill requirements:
    (1) Research field in Sport/Exercise Sciences
    (2) Sports teaching ability
  3. Qualifications:
    (1) Candidates must hold a PhD degree in sport sciences and possess EMI skills.
    (2) Requirements for new faculty members: Except for first-time teachers with a doctoral degree, any candidate for the full-time faculty position must fulfill one of the following requirements:
    a. Has published a book within three years, with proof of peer review and publication.
    b. Has published at least 2 papers in journals indexed in SCI, SSCI, A&HCI, EI, TSSCI, and the new THCI in 2016 (formerly THCI Core) in the past 3 years as the first author or corresponding author.
    c. Has hosted at least 2 research projects sponsored by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC, previously named as the Ministry of Science and Technology) in the last 3 years.
    Note: The journal papers and NSTC research projects described above are mutually interchangeable.
    Note: Newly hired full-time teachers who intend to hold the position of associate professor or above but have not been approved by the Ministry of Education for the proposed position, should meet the requirements of not lower than the basic threshold for promotion of the College of Sports and Recreation, National Taiwan Normal University.
    (3) EMI full-time teacher experience refers to those who have full English teaching experience in domestic and foreign universities. All courses are full English courses after being hired.
  4. Required documents: 5 copies are required.
    (1) Curriculum vitae (please indicate the contactable e-mail, phone number and address).
    (2) Copies of doctoral degree certificate and Teacher’s Certificate at the level of Assistant Professor or above (for applicants with no previous academic appointments, only the copy of PhD degree certificate is required).
    (3) Copies of transcripts of the applicant’s undergraduate degree or above (holders with a degree from a foreign institution must have degree certificates, transcripts or study certificates authenticated by the ROC Embassies and Missions Abroad).
    (4) Certificate of EMI skills.
    (5) Catalogue of academic publications, and full texts of these publications in the past 5 years, and indicate the representative works (if the journal articles belong to SCI, SSCI, A&HCI, EI, TSSCI, and the new THCI in 2016 (formerly THCI Core) papers, please indicate).
    (6) Proof of teaching experience in English (such as course syllabus taught in English…etc.).
    (7) Autobiography and future development plans (teachable courses, research directions planning).
    (8) Two letters of recommendation.
    (9) Other supporting materials.
  5. Application method:
    (1) Please go to our online recruitment system (http://pms.itc.ntnu.edu.tw/HireApp/) to complete the registration and log in the application materials (for academic research results, please fill in the personal information of the past 5 years).
    (2) After passing the preliminary review by the Department’s Teaching Evaluation Committee, the applicants must come to the department for an interview in person. If the applicant is abroad, you will be interviewed via a virtual interview, and the date will be set individually.
